great question and one i've thought about before. why should someone who is fighting a war and possibly giving up their very life be unable to buy a drink. i think if you posess a military id that shows you're active military, you should be allowed to buy and drink whatever your age...you've earned that right in my book.

Federal laws says the 18 years is Adult. Some states say its 21, some states say its 18. The Drinking Law also applies to certain other Adult Activities, like Conceptual Sex. you can have sex with an 18 year old, but you cant give them a drink, in certain states. The same 18year old can pull a trigger, so is allowed to kill humans while in uniform.
Another tricky part, if you are 12 years old, and have a drink with that babe that is also the Science Teacher, if she says you kissed in her apartment, you can be charged and tried as an Adult.
Should it be legal for people that have been taught how to use Deadly Force to consume alcohol, sure.

If your old enough and responsible enough to get shot and killed, you should be able to have a beer first.Since military bases are Federal Land an exception under federal law could be made.Unfortunately since the Federal government forced the States to adopt the 21 age limit by withholding Highway funding they can't supersede the rules they imposed

certainly it somewhat is all approximately physique shape, your physique and particularly your ideas are nevertheless dealing with some significant adjustments between 18 and 21 years of age. Alcohol alters ideas function (merely watch all of us who's had some in case you doubt it), for a coming up ideas it somewhat is often very risky. maximum alcoholics started eating ahead of age 21, there's a link between this dependency and the underdeveloped ideas. it is not as abritrary as you think of, alchohol poisoning is plenty extra beneficial interior the less than 21 set, even while much less alchohol is ate up than their over 21 contemporaries. it is not approximately administration, it somewhat is approximately conserving. I observed a chum drink herself to dying at 18, she hadn't had all that plenty, yet her physique went into ask your self and she or he surpassed out, she died on a thank you to the wellbeing facility.

Maybe it'd be alright to be like most other countries in the world and let teens drink, or even youngsters to an extent. It'll crack a cold! If it weren't for all the perverts and dumbasses that this country adopted. Not to mention, the ones that we still produce.

Nope! Old enough to die, old enough to drink a beer.

On some posts it is legal, Fort Bliss, as long as you're 18 and on post you're cool and in Korea (at least when I was there) the drinking age was 20 for soldiers.

Civilized countries let children start drinking wine as small children and and socially as they grow up w/out making a big deal about it. Anglo Saxon nations and especially their Puritan colonies like the US are the strictest and have by far the most problems w. binge drinking and over use of drugs, and less real freedom!
So no...

Yes. Unless somehow they can drink on base, and aren't allowed off base if they have been drinking.

I have never once spoke to a uniformed member of the military who had been drinking, who wasn't asking for trouble with their attitude and behaviour.

I definitely support our troops, both overseas and stateside, but I don't support underage drinking for them unless it is confined to military grounds.

Go with God.
