I took my car to the BMW dealer to have several things (service) done. One was to replace the outside rubber molding around the windshield. They told me that they would have to remove the windshield and that it would probably crack the windshield. Does this sound right to you?

The rubber can be flush cut to remove the windshield at a glass shop, but they may not give warranty on installation because glass does break and it was not their glass to begin with as well as glass being used and old or weathered(slight chips and such will weaken it especially if removing and replacing, which requires light to moderate handling of glass).

And if they bust it, they will have to replace it.

This does not sound like good advice. There are very few people that can remove a windshield without any damage. You will have to take your chances with someone you don't know or BMW.

A BMW is a real worldwide overall performance vehicle no longer a goofy a million/4 mile racer. it may on no account certainly spin the tires on dry or damp surfaces. in case your truly desperate I propose you pump the tires as much as 50PSI and then attempt.
