Neocon is thrown around quite often by people who don't know what it means. I think it's pretty funny to read hateful rants where someone uses the word "neocon" and you can tell by reading it they have *NO* idea what it means.

People who throw the word around DO misuse it but it's gotten a new meaning lately.
A neo-con, as i see it, is different from a neo-conservative. Neo-con is slang for anyone that a liberal doesn't agree with or Supports Bush or something like that.
But a neo-lib is one who thinks bush is always wrong and anyone who the conservatives don't agree with... though... I don't hear that one too often...
