I had a problem a week ago with this car it was acting up and it turned out abs cord wasn't connected. I have driven it about 75 miles since I got it back Tuesday and its driven great until today. I had been driving for awhile and when I came to a stop it idled roughly.. When I went to go it died as I was crossing interestection. I was able to get to the side of the road. It turned back on immediately and drove home fine. I called my mechanic and he said it probably just needs tune up. Does that sound right?

If it only did it once, it's possible there was water in the fuel that made it's way to the injectors.

There could be several other options, EGR, vacuum leak, O2 sensor, yada-yada..

But if it's fine now, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Pass on the tune-up for now. Sometimes things just happen.

I'm doubtful on a tune up, Sounds more like a possible stuck EGR valve. You may have just had a piece of carbon work it's way up into it and the it blew itself out.

is the check engine light on now? if so, a scan will probably tell you what the problem was. i agree with stoast on the egr valve. if you have around 60,000 miles on your car and never had plugs (and wires if V6) changed, you are indeed ready for a tuneup.

sorry Miz but that could be a number of things. fuel pump, ignition, computer(module). any number of components related to those. It pretty much has to happen while a mechanic is driving it. If it don't happen again they can't help you.hope it just was a one time glitch(fingers crossed)
