For as long as I can remember. We've been sending tons of money.."millions" is an understatement. BUT I mean we've been sending an uncountable amount to feed them, but it looks like nothing has changed.

a lot of the times we give the food to their government. and as hard as it may be to believe, their governments are often more corrupt then ours.

when we send food to such a corrupt government it gets sold like a big shipment of drugs, eventually making its way down to the poorer people after many have made their profits.

this causes the established dealers like the local farmers to go out of business, which actually hurts the whole population in the long run. our government is just brilliant.

There are several reasons for that. Sending money or food to poor countries is never a good and long-term solution - partly because it often never reaches the recipients where it is needed and secondly because it won't help them to become autonomous.

The primary reasons for poverty are political reasons or economic reason.

So you would need to sort out the politics and this would often be the best solution....

(Free) education is needed and and equal chances for everyone - so that people find jobs and a country is able to develop. But also countries need to know what to make money with and what the benefits of their countries are....sometimes they have precious resources, but due to the political system of more powerful countries, they are exploited and have no chance to sell their goods to other countries....this is why Mexico is so poor, as they are exploited by the USA...just some small changes in some economic laws would stop it and they would be able to grow.

Most powerful countries such as the USA are not interested in helping 3rd world countries by loosenig the laws (importing/exporting) and to give them a chance as it would damage their own economy...and unfortnunately many goverments are too dependent on the industry.

We could never keep all the impoverished people well fed. The only thing that will help the third world countries is time to develope. We should save our money for America, stop pissing it down the drain where it ends up in the hands of some African warlord.

Look at the countrys we send them to. The Govt will confiscate 90-95% of what is sent over there. The Hungry get very little

Hunger never goes away...it just subsides. It takes constant assistants to aide a country in need and if we lack the resources or moeny to do so, then nothing can further be done.

Find a charity site online, that is reliable, and see if you can help this cause.

It all gets stolen before it gets there. Its sad but our government's policies are meant to keep the third world in poverty. There are some reputable places you can still donate to that do make a difference, worldvision comes to mind.

give a person a fish, you feed him for a day
teach someone to fish, you feed him for a lifetime

I guess the socialists wanted us to teach 4 billion poor people how to fish. Not our jobs.

why do you think only a few million is enough to feed the billions of people who are hungry?

Corruption in the United Nations.

There isn't much hope of fixing it any time soon either.
