1st off the chances of getting pregnant is higher in those with tubal Ligation (0.5%) versus those with IUD's (0.1%). Back when the IUD became more popular then it was very common for it to fail and t there for was taken off the market. Babies would be born with it implanted in their body or it would come out when the water broke (and never harmed the baby) But now if for 1 reason or another you become pregnant the IUD is removed within the 1st trimester and you have a 50% chance of miscarrying.

With the new IUDs they have out today it is very unlikely you will get pregnant.
