For a 6 month old, I would buy the regular saltine crackers. They also sell the biter biscuits but I don't really like those, they get too messy. And its ok to give them crackers when they don't have teeth, because then they won't bite off a piece and choke on it. They can gum it and make it mushy. I have 4 children, and the regular crakers seem to work the best. Or buy the wafer cookies, my little one loves those. You know they are long and skinny.

I would wait and give him crackers after he gets teeth. About 9 or 10 months. I gave my son oyster crackers and unsalted soda crackers. Now they have crackers in the baby food isle.

6 months is a little young for crackers. i'd start with plain cheerios since they can be broken with just the saliva in her mouth and won't require much as far as teeth are concerned. or any of the "fruit puffs" or "veggie puffs" by gerber. they're along the same lines as a cheerio.

I wouldn't give any crackers to a six month old. I'd wait until they are at least 9 moths old, especially if your child doesn't have any teeth yet.

I used unsalted whole wheat saltine crackers. They are healthy and it gets the point across.
