A novel application of rubber is in Stretch Armstrong™ marketed by Cap Toys (originally manufactued by Kenner Toys) (See Figure 12) and Drastic Elastic™ from Just Toys, Inc. These consist of action figures approximately 15 inches high that can be stretched up to four or five feet in length. According to a representative from Cap Toys, the skin of the Stretch Armstrong™ figure is composed of rubber latex. The body is filled with a material made from a boiled corn syrup with some moisture removed so that it forms a gel with some flow characteristics and with some memory properties. Thus, when stretched and released, the figure returns to its original shape by elastomeric recovery of the rubber skin.

I've made my share of holes in them and remember the honey colored stuff coming out but I never tasted it to determine what it was.

Some sort of synthetic rubber I would guess. A polymer of some sort. Elastimer.
