Read the question folks- she's not asking for Eid to be a public holiday! Anything for a bit of rightwing Daily Mail crap about Muslims taking over the country! IN THE HOLIDAYS CATEGORY OF YAHOO ANSWERS! where there is everything else such as
Christmas
Dasara
Diwali
Earth Day
Easter
Halloween
Hanukkah
Independence Day
Kwanzaa
Passover
Ramadan
St. Patrick's Day
Thanksgiving
Valentine's Day
Yom Kippur
General - Holidays

In answer to the actual question, I think perhaps it would be included in Ramadan, or perhaps in the current climate Yahoo were afraid to dare to include more Muslim holidays in their listings!

Good question...but sorry I don't have the answer. It does not make sense to have ramadhan but no eid. Everyone just posts the Eid questions under Ramadhan. Do you think if it was mentioned to Yahoo, they would add the category?? Sorry I have just answered a question with another question :P

To Jacquelin: Islamic Countries have Ramadhan marked on their calendar but everyone isn't given a months holiday. That's not due to everything being closed as their would be very few workers, but because Muslims still have got to get on with their normal daily routine despite fasting.

This is because the UK is primarily a christian country, If the muslims, jews , hidus and buddist (ust to name a few ) had they`re festivals added to the holiday calander, no one would be at work.Ramadan for instance last a month.
