Am I impressed? Yes. I think that one should respect the amount of work and dedication put forth into a career. If someone has gained so much, why not show your colors? Many people might say "no" because they're jealous and harbor harsh feelings for these people because the people with the initials after their name have striven for more and thus earned the consequences. I think that there's alot of pride in initials like that. Hope that helps ya.

I don't know about impressed, but I sure would like my doctor to have an MD, or my vet to have a DVM. People who have PhDs have to spend a lot of time studying and researching to earn a Doctorate. Most of the high powered experts in science, math, space, computer science, or anyone who has pioneered a new procedure have an earned doctorate. It means they have specialized in some area of study.

Not really. But, the can be amusing. Take mine, for example; GRR. Or, imagine a guy with a name like Arnold Samuel Smith.

No, and it is funny because my baby doctor drove a porsche and had the word physician on the plate of his car! (around the plate). It always was annoying and made me laugh!

Not really, a person's level of education is meaningless. It's that person's actions and accomplishments that count.

Only if I need them to do something (like operate, or pull my teeth) for me. Otherwise, it means little to me.
