I cashed the check at a "check cashing" place, they called and verified the funds...next I called the number on the form, number is continuously busy, but kept trying, followed the information given on how to get my $120k, received my certified check..

I am happy

I also recived that letter- I found your question by trying to look them up, do you have any new information. I called them an they gave me all kinds of instructions, but I am hesitant to follow through. They said I signed up for it through an online survey. I have done a few of those and the name sounds familiar. Please let me know what you have found out as well. Thanks--I have looked into it more: The number on the check for the university is not the real number that the university has listed. when I did a reverse search on that phone number it said that the Phone location was Renina, SK. not quite WI! On my check there is not even a phone number for the bank. When I tried to call the number on the check had the same "full" answering machine as the number on the letter.

This is a SCAM. If you cash the check, it will either bounce, or the scammers will obtain your bank account numbers to clean you out. I verified the routing number on the check and it is a valid number, but I could not determine which bank it was valid for. The Area code for the phone number on the check is a Saskatchewan area code. The University hospital would NOT have an area code from Canada. The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinic Authority uses Firststar bank in Milwaukee (according to my brother who is a CPA for the State of Wisconsin) not a US Bank out of Wausau. The phone number in the main letter for your response is in Manitoba. The letter was stamped in Canada, so I don't see Amsterdam in this at all except for the Global-Link Lotto name. This is a SCAM from one of our northern neighbors in a western providence. I recommend that you copy everything and send them to your State's Attourney General's office to report this.

I also received that same letter and check in the mail with no return address postmarked Canada.
Let me tell you, I was ready to run to the back with it, but I started searching online and before I found this particular website, I also found www.ripoffreport.com. Many people all over were sent the same and found it's not legitimate.
It seems most have reported to their local authorities or the District Attorney's office. I suggest we all do the same.

i recd one. how do u if this is not true. same amount to you too. would there be a problem if we go to the bank?

I spoke to the university of Wisconsin Hospitals and clinics authority (search number in web). They are a real hospital. The lady who answered said they are fraudulent and DO NOT TRY TO CASH IT. YOU WILL BE HELD LIABLE. Also there is an investigation going on.
