When a little kids starts shooting around and playing basketball, which of following is the best way to start out with these two circumstances......... 1) Use a 10 foot tall basketball goal but a smaller/lighter ball or 2) Use a smaller basketball goal but with the regular size basketball.

mmm good question, my ymca uses a smaller ball AND basket for the little kids. then they move up to small ball and big basket, then finally big and big

the rim always should stay at 10ft. and as they grow theyll automatically use bigger basketballs, especially if they're playing for a school team because they use different balls for different grades/levels.

i would let your kid first learn how to handle the ball...let him have a feel for the game...
dribbling,defense,etc.
then start off on a lower hoop and emphasize proper form on his shot...you can't just huck a ball up and expect him to make it consistently
