I think it is a sport. The cheerleaders have to do a lot of training and it is very rigorous exercise. Jumping, tossing girls up in the air, dancing, and yelling takes a lot out of you.

Sorry but Yes I have to agree with your sister. Cheerleading is a sport because there are possible injuries, and is also like physical activity. I'm a cheerleader myself, and I know what cheer is because first I've cheered for 6 years, and I'm 13, and our team have won 7 national titles this year.

confident i do it relatively is why, whilst needed, the workplace of Civil Rights makes this selection on a case with the help of case foundation. the ladies human beings’s activities initiating has narrowed the sector down of what's seen a interest to those components that are many times agreed upon to define a interest: • It might desire to be a actual interest which comprises propelling a mass via area or overcoming the resistance of mass. (Stunting… verify)! • “Contesting” or competing against/with an opponent is needed (opposition… verify)! • It might desire to be ruled with the help of regulations that explicitly define the time, area, and purpose of the competition and the circumstances below which a winner is declared. (time cut back, mat length, score sheets… verify, verify, verify)! • Acknowledgement that the familiar purpose of the competition is a assessment of the relative skills of the members. (you know those competitions on ESPN? those are national championships… verify)! so far, cheerleading is 4 for 4! yet there are nevertheless 2 extra skills to fulfill for cheerleading to be seen a interest. the ladies human beings’s activities initiating makes it sparkling that “any actual interest wherein relative overall performance could be judged or qualified could be stepped forward right into a aggressive interest as long as: a million) The actual interest incorporates the above defined components (have been given them!) and… 2) the familiar purpose is opposition verses different communities or persons interior a contest shape comparable to different ‘athletic’ activities.”

Sport - No. Easy -No.

I heard this definition for a sport once and I think it is a good one. A sport is where person/team "A" can directly influence or stop person/team "B"

Everything else would be an activity. So by that definition, Cheerleading would be an activity. So would golf, fishing, bowling, and many more.

JUST because it is an activity though, doesn't mean that it is easy to do!

Competitive cheerleading is definitely a sport, but just cheering for your school's sports teams isn't. It's extremely hard work but and you have to be athletic to be a cheerleader, but it isn't a sport unless there is a system of points.

I didn't used to think it was a sport, but now I do. Those girls AND guys work hard. They have competitions too. Hell, if golf is a sport, and if they show poker on ESPN, then cheerleading should definately be considered a sport.

It isn't a sport as the average person would think of it being but it is a sport. There's a lot of physical energy and practice that goes into it like any other sport. There are also competitions like other sports so yes, in my opinion it is a sport.

i think it is. I love watching the cheer leading competitions that they have on TV. It takes a lot of work now days to be a cheerleader because they do such physical things now compared to just standing there cheering like they did 40 years ago when i was in school.

Cheerleading causes a signifcant number of injuries. It takes a great deal of athletism. Is it quantifiable for score keeping? Well thats up to your opinion. If you think figure skating is a sport, then probably so is cheerleading.
