just good folk made a great point. and I agree but I also see this as a problem because we cant do it alone.. we have to have help by the lefts own admission so who does it? I dont know the answer but terrorism needs to be curbed the proliferation of weapons is getting to the point you cant wait for a physical attack to react. who can you trust? Can it backfire? ofcourse. This is the hard spot our world political advisers are faced with. Im sure glad its not me. any other country has their own agendas and interests to push and suggest and that may change with the wind.

America has supported all of them. The major weapons manufacturers are based in USA , so it benefits the economy, but this is all swept under the carpet when a conflict erupts. IE Iraq. All to do with politics and backhanders, Seems strange they were still selling weapons to Saddam while the war was on!. Kill your own people! Least it was American bullet! They don't mention that in the letter to the widow, mom etc

Finally some one who says it.In the cold war the US only criteria to call countries allies was if they were against communism Absolutely true and the US should guard itself against making the same mistake now in the war on terror.Befriending anyone who's against your enemy can turn out nasty years later.Saudi Arabia,Pakistan?UAE?That aren't happy places but cruel dictatorships.
"For too long, many nations, including my own, tolerated, even excused, oppression in the Middle East in the name of stability. Oppression became common, but stability never arrived. We must take a different approach. We must help the reformers of the Middle East as they work for freedom, and strive to build a community of peaceful, democratic nations."

Hmmmmmm.... All of them? Don't forget that ahole from Liberia, Charles Taylor that they allowed to escape from a High Security Jail in the USA, and found his way to Africa to murder President Doe, who was apparently a bad communist man.

Charles Taylor was responsible for a decade of Murder and Mayhem in the Western Peninsular of Africa, resulting in nearly 500,000 deaths. I, personally lost someone dear to me in that carnage.
He is today in the World Court in the Hague awaiting trial for Crimes against Humanity.

Do you wonder why genuine American friends are fewer, and fewer by the day???
