Yes, fairly easy. I've lived here 2 years without having a car or a license and I have no plans for that to change. This is one of the few countries where it's not a hardship to be a non-driver. The buses, trains & trams are quite efficient & reliable and not very expensive. There are also bike paths everywhere if you'd like to rent a bike & explore your surroundings that way. Taxi's will rip you off so avoid them if possible.

Wouldn't be a problem. In most of the big cities there is a night bus. Asked at the bus station, train station or tourist info about the different tickets and possibilities. Or get a (second hand) bike with a very good lock.
Being single and traveling around should be no problem in a country like the Netherlands. I go on my bicycle anytime at night from the pub towards my house. Just don't go to places were you wouldn't go in your own country. (I don't go through parks in the middle of the night) Be alert of drunk and/or aggressive people.

Use public transport or walk. You can find routes for public transport via:
www.9292ov.nl
Unfortunately not in english but still easy to use:
adres = address
straat = street
huisnr = number of house
plaats = city
treinstation = trainstation
datum = date
tijd = time
vertrek = departure
aankomst = arrival

Yes, you can rent a car or hire taxis which are plentiful. Don't expect to disco or eat at a MacDonald's or any fast food place. The night entertainment is music and dancing at local pubs and full moon parties are a must.

Well, if you dont drive then you will have to pay for a cab or bus to get you where you want to go which could become pretty expensive. Cab rides do add up too! If you don't want that then you would probably have to get a bike and ride that everywhere, which can get pretty hard if you have to ride long distances or if the weather is bad. I would suggest, if you can, get your drivers license and a car to make it easier for you.

zeekat is right. Plenty of buses, trains and trams to take you wherever you want to go.

You can also rent a bike. It is the country of the bikes.
