Prescriptives mascara is AWESOME. It can only be found in department stores or online and is a little more pricey, but I guarantee you will see the difference. The top of the mascara container has a rubber-like grip handle.
I think Maybelline also used to make one that went through two openings before the wand came out of the bottle to minimize the clumping. It used to come in a maroon/silver colored container. Haven't seen it on the market here in awhile. You might look for mascaras that specifically advertise the things that you want; usually this means you have to stay away from masacaras that advertise "volumizing" because they are made to thicken the lashes. Good luck!

I had read in a magazine that many professional makeup artists use maybeline mascara. Once I read that, I noticed that all of the other companies made references to being better than great lash mascara (Revlon did: why be great when you can be fabulash?) So I only use maybeline.
Here's a trick my friend who went to beauty school taught me; Use a lengthening mascara (I use sky-high curves) then layer a thickening mascara (I use volume express). I was actually paid a complement on my make-up by a makeup artist at Sephora, who asked me what products I use. When I started naming all of the drugstore brands I use I could tell she was really surprised!

I use one that's called "Endless length & lift". It certainly has no clumps and lengthens your lashes so that it doesn't even look like you're wearing any mascara! It makes your eyelashes look naturally long. (black and white bottle.)
