Slappy had it right. Head to Asheville. The hot spots are Scandals (Grove St. ?) and Club Hairspray (I thinks that the name of it) close to the old post office. When I lived in Asheville, the hot spots were Traxx, Scandals, 45 Cherry and O'Henry's.
I did hear of a place in Columbia. I think it was The Castle, not sure about that though.

First, I don't know because I don't live in Spartanburg, SC...
Never heard of it.
Anyways, you should go wherever you want with your girlfriend. Don't care what other people say. But if you ever find a hangout you were looking for in the first place, hope you have fun!

In Spartanburg? In the state that just passed an anti-gay marriage amendment by over 80%? Shoot, girl... you'd be better off driving to Asheville, NC.
