Because both parents have blue eyes it is IMPOSSIBLE that the child is his considering the son has brown eyes. Blue eyes are a recessive trait, so both parents will only carry the trait for blue eyes. Some babies eye colour changes from when they are born but that is when babies are born with blue eyes, then they may possibly turn brown afterward. Not the other way around. I don't know whether I would tell him or not, thats a tough one. Maybe try asking the girlfriend/wife what the deal is, and maybe once presented with that fact (the blue eyes being recessive and the impossiblility that it is his), then maybe she will tell him herself which could work out better than you telling him. Good luck anyways in whatever you decide to do.

Genes and DNA can be tricky. My mom is white (Irish/French/German/Scottish/Dutch/native American) and my dad is black (African/Native American). I am very light skinned, dark eyes, dark hair. However, when I was born I had peach fuzz hair and blue eyes. The texture of my hair has changed from peach fuz to pin straight and now (I'm 21) it's curly / wavy. My brother is dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes. When he was born he looked asian. His hair was straight, then curly, and now is more course and curly.I still get that I look asian. I've heard that I look native american.
It's VERY possible that the baby is 100% your friend's. Like someone said, Italians can have dark skin. As he grows, his coloring may change, his hair is likely to change.

I suggest you say nothing. Genes can appear a few generations down the road. So an African ancestor a few generations back could influence the child's looks.

There is a difference between a Father and a Sperm donor. Maybe he already knows. Let him be a proud father.

It's not your place to interfere. If something negative comes out in the future, then so be it. But if you were really his friend, then you would just be happy that something is making HIM happy.
Don't get involved.

Don't "break the news" to him. There may be darker skinned people in his (or her) family tree you don't know about. So I say, sorry, but it's really none of your business.

Frankly, if you are truly his friend, you will mind your own business. You have no right to even suggest such a thing to him.

Italians can have those kinds of genes, if they are from Southern Italy they are darker - so maybe it is his.
