The ROTC Ball is very formal! Like prom is in most places ( even though I have seen kids on TV going to prom that arent dressed up at all) long dress, maybe gloves, tiara... the works! Hope she has fun!

How does she know girls in the new school wear sexy clothes? She should stick to whatever she wears now and not go out and get a whole new "sexy" wardrobe. If she dresses in those outfits and makes out with cute boys and goes to parties she will be labelled a **** within a few weeks of being at the new school. Use your common sense and don't let her walk out the door in something that seems inappropriate to you no matter what the current style is.

If it's a "ball," than that is a formal occasion. Think conservative prom dress.

You could try to contact one of the officers involved and ask for advice as well.

A gown with white gloves a nice pretty shaw. These kind of events are very formal and classy. She wants to feel very proud and cconservative and yet elegant style and charm. I think this waould be a nice suggestion.

It's black tie for the cadets, though the standards are often relaxed somewhat for guests and family. In other words, it is impossible for your daughter to be overdressed. Elegant formal wear that does not qualify as black tie is appropriate in many cases, but it should be somewhat conservative (I guess that is a given because of her age).

15 year olds love to dress up, so get her a gown (of make it or have her make it)... A good cocktail dress would do, too, but that may be a little mature for her. If she is the ROTCer, they may have a dress uniform.

Yeah, and if her date's anything like the kinda guy I was when I was 15 and going to high school dances....you'd better make her wear a chastity belt.
