Definitely both, and it's quite an example they're showing to the kids. If they have a girl, the lesson is that Daddy can say and do anything disrespectful, and women stay and take it. If they have a boy, he'll either take after Daddy or be the softie that gets taken advantage of by a jerk wife. Either way, your friend is just as much to blame for staying. Sorry to say, but kids pick up everything.

Heya Sarah!

Yes it is abuse. It's verbal abuse and she shouldn't put up with it. That's not good for her self esteem! What kind of husband cusses at his wife and children like that. No man at all if you ask me!

verbal abusing jerk...... I bet he's not always like that but thats no excuse. Words dont mean much to some and they use it if they know it affects you. If she feels abused then its abuse. It's up to her to do something because actions speak louder than words...........

This is mental abuse. I think you should find the # for a good councellor in the area and have your friend and her partner go to get help.

That is definitely verbal abuse and emotional abuse. Sometimes they can do more damage than physical abuse.
