There is an old 1970's or 1980's horror movie called "Don't be afraid of the dark". Its great!!!! The best horror movie I've ever seen. It really messed me up when I was a kid. I somehow (accidentally) watched it. After that, I wouldn't even go to sleep without a VERY bright light being left on. I don't know if you can rent it, though. How about the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Its pretty good. Heres a good hint when renting horror movies: Don't just look at the new released. Go to the horror section and look through some of the older stuff. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Clarkie: I had no idea there was a 1960's version of "13 Ghosts"! I like that movie too.
Angel: OMG! I forgot about "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"! I saw it when I was little also, and just remember those creepy little people. Me and my brother called them the "Raisin heads"
Sorry I hate to keep adding to this but I just remembered the movie "Phantasm" it was kinda stupid but really scary and creepy!

13 Ghosts (the 1960's version)
Frankenstein (the original)
Phantom of the Opera (Lon Chaney Jr)
LATER: Regarding 13 Ghosts (1960) it was one of the first movies in 3-D. Terrifying! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053559/

The Chucky series is the best. I just think its funny seeing a doll run around killing people. Even thought they got a little carried away with Bride of chucky and Seed of Chucky, I still like them
