Ricky will break this record, but in 2007 or 2008. Certainly not in 2006. He has two matches to go in this year and looking to england's form, he probably will have only two innings and not four. This year, no chance. Next year - looks like he will.

Ricky Ponting is 2 centuries and 539 runs behind the record of Mohd. Yusuf. There are only 2 Test Matches to be played by Australia this year, it will be difficult for Ricky Ponting to break the records of Mohd. Yusuf. However, if he continues with the same form and if luck is in his side he may be able to the 9 century mark set by Mohd. Yusuf.

Not a chance. He is a Druggie and a dpoey and should be banned from International cricket. Ponting stands no chance and next year 2007 Sachin will be the highest scorer of runs.

Well with only two tests (the 5th Ashes test is in 2007) he will either need to get two big double or big centuries in all four innings! It will be a tough ask, possible, but I think he will go close but not quite.

I reckon there's a possibility. He certainly is capable of facing the English bowlers in their current form. Might run out of time though. Is one of the best batsmen of all time and he could break most records if he continues.
