It happened today. I found one mention on the Seattle P-I site, but nothing else.

I read the account in the Salt Lake City newspaper, and your answer is probably contained therein -- the object fragmented before reaching the surface. Those fragments have financial worth, so get yourself a metal detector. If you can determine where the fragments might have fallen, any of them you find are worth money. Also in the news story the Geminid meteor shower was mentioned; that could have been the source of the object.
