Do you like or dislike Leonardo DiCaprio?

Question

Leo is often the subject of debate on whether he is a good actor or not. With many movies under his belt, I'm asking you why you like him or why you don't. Personally, I think DiCaprio is one of the best actors in Hollywood to date. I'd like to know what you think. Especially those of you who do not like him. Honestly, was it because of Titanic? :)

I am surprised how many people genuinly don't like him. I half to admit I didn't think anything much of him after Titanic but then he did "Catch me if you Can" and I was impressed. He has continued to take on challenging rolls like in "Gangs of New York" and more recently in "The Departed". I went to see "The Departed" mostly out of curiousity as to how Leo would stand up beside actors like Nicholson, Sheen, Damon and even Wahlburg. I was pleased. Even when I look back as movies like What's eating Gilbert Grape and Basketball Diaries, I have to give the guy credit. I have always had this natural need to write him off, maybe I still picture him in Growing Pains, but the more I see the more I look forward to seeing. Also he plays characters that, although they may be a "good guy" are not always perfectly likable, and that in and of itself is commendable.

Frankly, I think that he gets a bad rap, because, he has grown up on the screen. While, he is a moderate actor with some talent, he has had some exceptional roles. He was brilliant and creepy as Howard Hughes in "The Aviator" . I also liked him in "Marvin's Room" with Meryl Streep and in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" with Johnny Depp. He has definitely gotten better with age and having "Titanic" as his breakout role was probably quite a drawback.

I rather like him. It all started with Basketball Diaries. He's not the best of his generation, but far above average. Peter Sasgaard and Eric Bana are some of my faves.

I thought Titanic was beautiful to look at, but the plot was far below Leo and Kate Winslet's abilities. Not to mention that horrible song.

I do not. I imply, I'm now not his fan however I without doubt do not hate him. He has demonstrated himself to be an excessively high-quality actor and he merits it. The man can act. EDIT: Agree with Jamie L beneath. Yes I used to consider that he was once simply a kind of lovely boys who can best account on his well appears best. But then, like I mentioned, he has demonstrated himself to be a well actor so I do not rather "despise" him anymore. Yes it might be too naive to consider that his well appears don't have anything to do with him being a lead actor however oh good, it is Hollywood. Like it or now not, appears do play a essential position on this town and so probably instances it is viewed to be extra main than your abilities/competencies. It's ill, I recognize, however hello like I mentioned, it is Hollywood.

Personally, I think he is ugly. I mean he has a pumpkin-shaped head, come on!! But, I must say his acting skills are very impressive!! I must give him props, where his looks lack (in my opinion) his talent definately makes up.
