I would like the BEST quality amp possible for around $200 at the most. I am thinking about getting an Epiphone Les Paul, if that helps you answer the question.

Thanks guys!

As Thin Kaboudit stated, the amount you pay will determine the quality of your amp.

Good amp companies:

Marshall
Fender(some of them)
Peavey
Crate

If you have 200 bucks, then I would suggest the Peavey Rage 258 Guitar Amplifier with TransTube Technology.

It has
* 25W RMS
* 8 super-duty Blue Marvel speaker
* 2 channels
* 3-band EQ
* Tape/CD aux input/direct out
* Pre and post gain knobs
* Master volume
* Stack/Modern/Vintage voicing switch
* Headphone jack
* 16 lbs.
* 19-1/4 W x 15-1/2 H x 9-1/2 D

All for just $120. Great deal.

Hope that helped. Remember, an amp itself does not do all the job. Pedals, pickups, distortion, and a great deal of other things affect your sound too. So dont be hating on the amp =)

It makes ABSOLUTELY no difference. For $200, you will get exactly $200 worth of amplifier. If the "Epiphone Les Paul" amp was any better than the others that cost the same, they'd put the price up!

Stop wasting your time thinking about such things, and spend that time practicing and trying to develop a sound that sounds "just like you"...

They're all about equal for that price. Just pick a brand name.
My first one was about $75. My friends brother borrowed it for practice (he was in a awesome band) and blew the speaker out of it. He replaced only the speaker with a Magnavox speaker and that thing ROCKED after that.
Maybe buy a piece of crap and replace the speaker with something bigger and better?
