This is a tough one and everybody has a different opinion. Alive today the best rapper is between Jay Z and Eminem. Their styles are both different. Jay z´s word play is insane while eminem´s rhyming ability is second to none. The thing about eminem is his records don´t really show his talent. it´s like he is rapping for the public not for hisself. Try listening to his freestyles, his battles and when he features on other peoples records, he is always a lot better in these situations. Jayz is amazing but at times it seems like he is not putting so much effort which I guess accounts for how good he is. If I had a label I would take either one because they are both outstanding.
Now in the case of dead rappers I prefer Tupac to Biggie. Biggie is probably better interms of word play (he is better than Jay Z) but Tupac has a presence that has no rival. Again if i had a choice between tupac, biggie, eminem and Jay-z for my label, I would pick Tupac in a second.
As for best r&b singer the answer is R kelly, for dancer the answer is usher (don´t even think about saying justin timberake cus his dances always seem choreographed).
For female rapper theirs a british chick from a groupi forget she is easily the best. for singer I say rhiana.

Depends on if you mean of all time or just artists that are still at it, and if you're basing it on skill, originality, and content.

I think Pac was one of the greatest, simply for the fact that his content was straight from the heart, and how influential he is on today's artists. I wouldn't say he is the best ever, but he will always be known for his abilities as an MC which is definately saying something.

Another rapper that is highly under rated is Pharoah Monche. Barely anyone has heard of him, but no one that I have heard sounds anything close to him. He is like an Eminem on crack sometimes with the way he spits.

And then there is Bizzy Bone, who I think, for his style and for what he was saying, he was so far ahead of his time (then we went crazy LOL). I think BB could have been the best ever. I mean look at his (and the group's) style, and there is no one that I have heard that can pull it off anywhere near to what they did still to this day.

Eminem is also in my top list, but he puts out too much BS sometimes to take him seriously. I am a hardcore fan, but even I have to admit he lets me down alot with what he can do and what he actually does instead.

Jay Z I think is quite far from being able to justify saying "Best rapper alive", but as a person he is highly credible. He has talent for knowing how to write a great song, but the fact that he does in fact bite so many other people's lines, he is the P Diddy of the mic world.

As for R&B, my personal faves are Ginuwine and Usher. IDK about Ginuwine's dancing, but Usher is incredible. They both have amazing voices, but Usher seems to get more shine because of his age.

Just opinions... so who do you think is the best?

Hey there...
hmmm best rapper and then best rnb singer/dancer.

Well I say a rapper who can rap is "Chamillionaire" - I really like him and the best chick rapper to me would be Missy Elliot.

And RnB guy singer/dancer would be CHRIS BROWN - ohhh yeah and a RnB chick singer/dancer would have to be CIARA!

Cheers!

I like Immortal Technique.

He's "real"
He raps about the world and real issues, things that matter.

Not just what kind of car he bought, and how many sluts he can bang.
