Kidney Infections: Any one have them frequently?

I get Kidney infections a few times a year, and they all vary in severity.
I can not seem to stop them from creeping up on me. Does anyone have any info on why I am getting them or what i can do to prevent them?

My kidney doc wrote a script for an antibotic and i am to take one right after having sex w/ my husband. he stated that it's just caused by bactria. You should talk to your doctor, they should be able to help you out.

Make sure you drink plenty of water, regardless of whether you have an infection or not. Also, you can take cranberry pills as a preventative measure. You won't have to take nearly as many as you would if you actually had an infection (if you've taken them for an infection). Just one or two a day should help as a preventative.

Also, if you have a diet high in caffeine and sugar, you should try to cut some of these foods out.

Always be careful after any sexual activity, as the transmission of bodily fluids can lead to infections, regardless of whether both partners are healthy or not. It's best to go to the restroom immediately afterward to try to flush out as much as you can, then cleanse thoroughly. Avoid douching, however.

I also used to have frequent UTIs, but they've lessened over the years as I learned a few tips. I have taken the cranberry pills as a preventative measure in the past, but I no longer take those, but find that I don't have a really bothersome infection more than once a year or so, now.

Well drink more, water... cranberry juice. Have you gone to your doctor about the issue, it might be something more serious than just your typical kidney infection.
I thought I was having frequent UTI's and Kidney infections and come to find out my urine always test positive for them, even if I don't have one. The infections specialist told me that some people are that way. I'd have them run some blood test to rule out anything more serious.

Yes. If you have a lover,make sure both of you take antibiotics together. Some UTIs can hide in your friends body then come back and get you,and turn to kidney infections.
