I don't understand why the clothes, shoes, and houseware items are so expensive. If you don't know what I am talking about go to www.anthropologie.com

As far as expensive goes for Anthropologie, I don't agree with you 100%, I agree with you 1000%.

It's all in the marketing. The quality may be good, but the look is completely ugly. The clothes are unflattering and unattractive. The housewares stuff doesn't have me doing handstands either. They have a nice marketing campaign and intriguing store design. Otherwise, no substance.

Anthropologie, it seems, was created to be the Urban Outfitters for the generation that was becoming a little too advanced in age to continue shopping at U.O. but still liked a hip style --- and I suppose it was then assumed that this generation would also have advanced in their careers and increased their purchasing power and could now be charged more (and not just more, but WAY more)... Marketing mavericks are well aware that pricing doesn't need to be reasonable for a brand to be successful...

because people are paying for the atmosphere, and the unique clothing and housewares.

it is a lifestyle.

i think its kinda expensive sometimes. but i do love to shop there.

good question.... i love their unique clothing as well but come on.... their shoes rock hard, however.
