Social psychology research strives to improve our understanding as to why people behave or react in various situations and environments - either individually or in a group. There is always great hope that by studying problems a solution might be found. But it's doubtful it can explain all problems because the environment is constantly changing.

Our world is changing much too quickly for the sciences to keep up.
Environmental factors can modify human behavior in a nano-second and social psych. can't grasp the impact without doing long studies and by the time the studies are completed the
impact has evolved into a larger or even different problem. So my answer is no.

No but it can explain and predict aggregate behavior and the influences for behavior. No science can explain everything about a topic. Such an absolute assumption is not supported by science. Social Psychology is a science that uses empirical data from experiments as other sciences do. The findings are real and supported and do pertain to reality.

No. Besides, psychology is an art and not a science. Of course one could say that any given set of facts explains something but that does not make it so.

I think social phsychology can explain some of our problems but not all. I believe we learn from everything happening around us and our past history but I also believe our brains are not sufficiently evolved to comprehend the meaning of our lives or how to live our lives. I think the balance will swing from positive to nagative for many years as we continue to evolve and learn from our mistakes. We are not that many years from the sea and possibly have as many more to reach our potential.

Yes, if you want vapid, ideologically driven explanations that are fully disconnected from reality. This sub-discipline creates more problems than it explains. Try evolutionary biology, instead.
