Well, from experience, I too had to have a vaginal ultrasound at about that time in my pregnancy. It did not mean i was in danger but I guess they just needed a better look at the baby.

Oh, I also was 40 when I got pregnant after 10 years of Doctor's telling me it would not happen. I was a "high-risk" pregnancy through the entire time and had to have an ultrasound every 2 weeks. Well, he is now 18 months old and perfectly healthy and happy.

So, I wish you the very best. I know you've had a couple of miscarriages already. Try to just stay positive and not get scared if you can. Believe that you will carry to full term.

I wouldn't worry about it, I know it is hard not to do since you already had 2. I had the same thing done but I was only 6 weeks and 5 days because I was spotting. With the vaginal ultrasound you will be able to see everything. GOOD LUCK

It doesn't mean that you are miscarrying...did he do the ultrasound? the reason he would want to do that is because of your history of miscarriages. And vaginal ultrasound is best for early detection.
I was 9.5 weeks when I found out and the doctor did a vaginal ultrasound to be sure the embryo was implanted where it was supposed to be. Its was so cool. You could see her big ole head and little body with her little nubs or flippers for hands and feet. Her tail was already gone. And her weee little heart was just a pounding. Its the best picture I've gotten thus far.

No, it doesn't necessarily mean that at all. He wants a better view just because he couldn't see the baby well. Doctors commonly do blood tests with pregnancy to correctly determine the age of your baby. Vaginal ultrasounds can see the baby more clearly in some cases. Hope that helps!

Doctors can get the dates wrong. My last lmp was on Oct. 13. The doctor said that I should have been over 6 weeks at my first ultrasound on Nov. 24. I was only 4 weeks 5 days according to the ultrasound. I wouldn't panic until I got the blood work back. I was concerned also when this happened to me b/c I have had 3 miscarriages.

I would not worry at this point. At 11 weeks I had to have a vaginal ultrasound, and they also took my blood, but it was just because the baby was so tiny at that point. You'll see that more than likely, once they do the vaginal ultrasound, you're probably not really 10 weeks along, but probably less. My LMP said I conceived 11 weeks prior, but it was only 7 weeks. Just relax and wait to find out. Worrying about it will just stress you out. GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm really shocked he didn't tell you his concerns while you were there...It's very likely that he is determining if your pregnancy is still what they call "viable"...meaning if you have not miscarried. Did he hear a heartbeat with the ultrasound? When I was 10 weeks pregnant I had a similiar experience with that. The Dr could not pick up a heartbeat and sent me to ultrasound and saw the baby and heard the heartbeat. I hope everything is ok.

No it doesnt mean youre miscarring.

Youre 'about' 10 weeks. you're probably a little less. usually up until about 10-12 weeks you have to get a vaginal ultrasound to see the baby.

Babies that young are really hard to pick up on a reagular ultrasound... since theyre roughly the size of a pea, or a lima bean. If you're not as far along as they originally thought, the baby might be as small as a grain of rice. Thats just impossible to see with a regular machine.

:)

He took blood to double check your hormone levels and see how much theyre raising, and to make sure they havent gone down. If they havent raised much it can mean that you're not as far along as the first blood test indicated.

Remain calm. He will keep you informed.

I'll be 10 wks tomorrow and was talking to my doctor yesterday. She told me that it is still too early to hear the heartbeat until the 12th week. Maybe the same goes for how small the baby is too??? I had a transvag. ultrasound @ 7 weeks and the tech had a hard time even then. I'm sure you are ok, just really early.

GOOD LUCK!

It could mean that the baby just hasn't grown big enough yet to see on a "stomach" ultrasound. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Stress is bad for a pregnancy. Remember, if you were having a miscarriage, he would have told you. If your still worried, call his office back...but I think it's ok.
