I have finallized a divorce. VERY good thing...he was extremely dangerous and abusive. I have bought my first house on my own. (I own another house but won it in the divorce so it really doesn't count.) I was able to purchase a boat and a newer car to haul the boat. My boyfriend and I are going on 4 years Jan 8. I have 5 great kids! The oldest in the Air Force. I had to cut my apron strings on him this year. Very hard thing to do. I still miss him terribly! I should have been smarter with my money. I shouldn't of bought the boat till NEXT summer. That was a very huge mistake on my part. I made a huge mistake on the bank I used for my car. They are outrageous in their interst! So I'm selling my 2nd home and hope to put a hefty down payment to refinance my car. I've been thinking about selling the boat but too hard in the winter months. But for the most part this has been a wonderful year for me. If my house sells by the end of this month...it will have been the PERFECT year for me and my children.

Very sad and happy changes for me. Beginning of the year I lost my husband of 16 yrs. in a motorcycle accident, there are days I wish I were on the back of the bike w/ him. My son turned 18 and moved out-Empty Nest!! yippie. I moved into a new home- starting a new life!- not by choice, but so far so good. My son informed me I'm going to be a grandmother! - haven't got used to that one yet but getting more excited as it goes.
Hoping 2007 goes better.
Hope you had a good year.

a major change for me has been to finally let go of my childrens father. it was for the better but hard for me to do. he wasnt there for us so i finally let go after 11 yrs. so far so good. the only bad thing of 2006 for us was that the children wont have a father unless someone else comes along ready and willing for all the responsibilities. what are the chances of that happening for a single mother?
