Yes, I do. Does anyone realize if a few major Interstates or bridges even were bombed, that you couldn't even get food? Do you think George is going to help feed your starving children? People better wake up! We didn't think that we would ever be invaded and it happened on 9/11. Money won't make a damn bit of difference!

Very interesting discussion!! Well in his prayer to his father he speaks about "your kingdome come, your will be done on EARTH as in Heaven" - Matt 6 v 9 So here he was talking about changes for the earth. He also spoke in other verses in Matthew about signs of what to look out for Matthew 24v 7 onwards - nation against nation, earthquakes, food shortages on a great scale than ever seen before. It is also important to look for further evidence throughout the other books of the bible to link it all together. We have much evidence to suggest we are living in 'the last days' as the book of timothy suggests. (1Tim 3v1 onwards). If for example you look chronologically at history it ties in very well to the prophecies predicted in the bible. For instance if you would do a bit of research into Daniel prophecy about the Image (when Daniel reminded King Nebucudnezzar of his dream and explained the meaning). We see an image with the head of Gold chest and arms of silver, belly of copper, legs of iron and feet of molded clay and iron mixed together. Daniel explains that the head of gold is the babylonian empired ruled by King Nebucudnezzzar. It goes on to explain that his rule will be over run by another kingdom (prophesied in Isaiah to be Cyrus) Meads and Persians. If we look throughout history we can see the next world empires. Greece followed the Meads and Persians (belly) then greece split after alexander the great died and became the roman empire (legs) then the next major world empire was the anglo american world power. So we are at the feet now arent we???? If you read on from that it says a large stone will be cut out not by hands and will crush these kingdoms and a kingdom will be set up which will not be put to ruin. Just as those were earthly kingdoms ruled the earth this kingdom will rule over the earth. Forever! Making all the wonderful promises held in the bible come about. Psalms 37v10&11 Revelation 21 v 3&4 Hope this helps. Sorry if it was a bit long! - Its hard to read it but I am not meaning to sound dogmatic or arrogant in what I have said. It is what I have found out from my studies. Thanks Soph PS the Daniel scripture is Daniel chapter 2.

In my youth, I used to. But then I discovered that it was just about impossible to gather enough stuff to survive one year, let alone the rest of ones life.

Hand-powered tools to make shelter, repair and make clothing, defend yourself against attack, enough food for the rest of your life, legacy seeds to grow food the rest of your life (hybrid ones don't usually reproduce), etc.

Plus it doesn't take the end of the world, only an EMP (electromagnetic pulse). I first heard of this when in the Air-force ROTC in the 1970s. Very scary. No one wants to discuss EMP.

I do try to collect things in case there is a natural disaster or something. I'm paranoid like that.

Yes. The world isn't likely to end, but there are blizzards, earthquakes, bird flu, terrorist attacks, etc. Being prepared makes me feel that I may not need it.

Well, if THE WORLD ENDS, there is no point in collecting anything is there because it will be, uh, THE END.
