I don't want to go into details but just in case I need some back up I need to know the answer to this.
In my book this woman kills the wolf companion of another, her spirit leaves her body; she's still alive as his is leaving his body, they both go back into her body. Now later on in the story there may be a conversation between a man and his daughter as to why that has happened and I will need some facts.

I would recommend "Skin Walkers" by Tony Hillerman.

I've never heard anything remotely like that, but it's your book, why don't you just think about it and make something up?
