Does anyone have a clue as to why there has been no capture or killing of Osama Bin Laden?

I am not of any political party, though, I do vote. My burning question is it has been well over five years since the largest attack on American soil took place on September 11, 2001, and WHY haven't we caught or killed Osama Bin Laden by now? Was he not the one who lead this attack? Why has it taken well over five years? We won World War 2 quicker then this, and today we BY FAR have the BEST military that the world has ever seen. Though, I do not blame our service women and men, I am questioning our political leaders over this. It seems every time I ask these questions, people automactically assume I am a liberal democrat. The case is I am a PROUD AMERICAN and would, like so many Americans, want to see Osama Bin Laden captured or killed for what he did to our great nation. Even so, for those of you who are liberal, even you have to agree with me on that. Does anyone know anymore to what is going on?

We should ask Clinton this question as Bin Laden was handed over to him on at least 2 occasions. Billy boy was too busy with Monica to care. If he would have kept his pants zipped long enough to care, 9/11 would have never happened.

To answer your question. Because he is in hiding. When you hide, it makes it much harder to find. We are still searching for him.

There's lots of reasons. First of all, he is a huge hero in the eyes of Islamic radicals, even for $40 million (I believe that's the current amount) reward will not bring a lead on where he is. In their eyes we are the infidel; unworthy and beneath contempt; I don't care if you're Mother Theresa. That should tell you something about what we as a civilization are facing; that Bin Laden, a mass murderer of innocents, is held in such high esteem. Thus someone who practices Islam would never turn in one of their own to an infidel, no matter how low the individual.
So, Bin Laden is supposedly in hiding somewhere on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan, he has a lot of money and people who protect him for the reasons stated above.
Political correctness has done much damage to the war on terror, one example is the decision by the military not to bomb a group of alleged Taliban leaders because they were at a funeral(maybe Bin Laden was there also, who knows). If this situation was reversed, if they had the change to kill us, believe me, debating whether or not to drop the bomb would never have crossed their minds.
If we ever do get him (which will probably be due more to good luck than anything else), I hope he is shot where he stands; we don't need another Saddam trial. A trail will only make him more of a hero in their eyes and would give them another reason to kill the infidel; us.

Osama bin laden is something of a hero to the "radical faction" of the Muslim world.He has been sticking it to not only the United States,but the entire world(those who do not agree with his ideology).There is a part of the world that adores him for this and yet at the same time fears him.They fear him for what he would do in the way of reprisals to them if he were not killed in an attempt - no matter what the reward offered,you can't spend the money if you are dead yourself.They also love him and wouldn't dream of turning him in,regardless of money.You must also remember that most of the people that have opportunity to turn him in have no real concept of the amount that has been offered.
To those who believe in the Fahrenheit 9/11 fiction,it is easily proven that while the bin Laden family is one of the most wealthy in the world,Osama's father had 50 some children.Evn he was so repulsed by Osama that he gave Osama his "inheritance" some 20 years ago and has since disowned him.These flights that supposedly happened only happened in the movies.
One day,and not soon enough for me,someone will turn against that s.o.b.and he will be given what he deserves.

Bin Laden is most likely in a the western region of Pakistan or the "tribal region" where the Pakistan Govt. has virtually no control over so it has become a sanctuary for Bin Laden, other Al Qaeda terrorists and the Taliban. It is that western region of Pakistan that has become the unofficial terrorist state of the world & although the US military/CIA have used, on a few occasions, missiles or bombs to kill Bin Laden and other terrorists in that region they have yet to get Bin Laden. The problem is that the Pakistan Govt. won't let any US troops including special forces into that tribal region of Pakistan to try and go & get Bin Laden which is obviously a major problem for the US. The Taliban also use that region as a sancturary to launch attacks against US troops in Afgahistan and protect themselves from US troops who can't cross the border into Pakistan to get them.

We don't have the needed support or respect from the muslin people to trust that we are there to help. Look at the total mess the place is in now. Are they better off then when Saddam was there? I said they, not we. We know at some point he had weapons because we sold them to him, we also instructed how to use them. Don't get me wrong he was a bad guy but have we accomplished what we set out to do? No.
We are not defending our country with what we are doing there. We are placing our dedicated soldiers in harms way and they are fighting a battle that we don't even have help from within. It is because they might be looking in the wrong places. If he got rid of the turban and shaved he could be hangin' out in the Friendly Tavern in Bedford, Indiana or many similar dives along with Big Foot.

All one needs to hide in this world is enough cash and a few street smarts. Many Arabs know all about the rougher side of town because they have done a lot of drinking and whoring. They just do it when they're out of there own country even though it's against their religion.

There are mafias, smugglars and organized drug cartels around the world that will hide and protect almost anybody for a price. Further, bin Laden has a hell of a lot of Muslim buddies all over the world.

If they go hunting bin Laden with a lot of people he's going to see them comming. If they go after him with a small group that small group just might end up dead.

It was said that they were getting close to him in Afganistan but they gave up the effort in order to get into that cluster **** in Iraq.

Remember how hard it was to catch Sadam Hussein. Well, he didn't leave his own country. Well, think about somebody that goes running around the globe.

Finally, the United States has been running around the world for several decades sticking it nose into things that are none of its business. In doing so the US has managed to piss off a significant percentage of the world's population. Well, these pissed off people will certainly help somebody like bin Laden. So it makes it much harder to catch him.

Here in the US we got one of the best countries by far in the world. Instead of sitting back and minding our own business and enjoying what we have, our government and corporations have taken it upon themselves to go screw around all over the world and piss people off. It is much like trying to clearify the contents of an outhouse or have sex with a tar baby without getting the mess on you.

I love the US and hate bin Laden as much as anybody. But, I have to say that you need to get out of the choir booth and then you might understand this.

They're waiting till about a month before the next Presidential election. The country is finally starting to wake up and not vote solely based on fear. The Republicans will need every little bit of help they can get to keep control of the White House. They'll trot Osama out just far enough before the election that everyone knows about it but not so far in advance that people's attention wandners. Wouldn't surprise me if one day they expose that Osama's been tucked away in a jail cell underneath the CIA headquarters in Langley, VA all this time.

Because the next presidential elections have not come around yet. Bush knew he would win office in 2004 cause he had some buds on the inside cheating for him. He'll have Osama caught when the next elections come around so some of the converted republicans will come back over to the republican side cause they would have something telling them that Bush wasn't a total failure.

Many of Bin Laden's family were living in the US when the attacks happened. During the no fly rule, their flights were some of the very few that were allowed to fly. Geo Bush Senior has many oil interests associated with the Bin Laden family and was classed as a personal friend of theirs. I think the answer lies there!
