Use white cardstock for the base card and apply a piece of black cardstock slightly smaller than the card to the front. Use rubber stamps to stamp an all over design on the black cardstock....leaves, feathers, fish, pinecones or similar designs from nature are manly....use gold, copper and silver pigment inks to stamp the design. Layer a piece of gold cardstock over this but smaller so the design under it will show then another slightly smaller piece of cardstock on top of the gold. Repeat the nature design on this piece with the same 3 metallic inks. Finally, on a small black rectangle, stamp the words Merry Christmas in gold and layer on top of the last rectangle. For Christmas, pinecones would be the best and the other designs would be good for birthday cards.

Well, you know your boyfriend best... you know what he likes and what his interests are. He's going to like it regardless because it's a part of you.
Now, I don't know what area you live in but more than likely there is a craft store that sells card making material by the sheet... Definitely use card stock for the base but don't limit yourself to the traditional. There's a lot of interesting textures and patterns out there that can make for a very manly looking card. Go with what you like and what you think displays his interest. You could build it around a picture of you... something a little naughty & nice. Guys LOVE that sort of thing.
I hope I've been of some help. I've listed a couple of sites that might have some information for you. Best of luck!!
Happy Holidays!

If you're religious, make a religious card; the nativity, etc.
Or a fireplace with stockings on the mantel and a decorated tree.
Christmas cards don't have to be manly. It just has to do with Christmas and appeal.
