Normally if you worked the 40 hours a week they have to pay you overtime. If you are a bi-weekly employee you can take the time off on Monday but if you get paid every week they should pay you overtime but alot of employers skirt around the issue with the new overtime laws, exemptions and all that rot. I usually take the time off because I can leave work early but if I can't leave we have to pay the overtime. Don't let them rip you a new one.

Hello my friend to be honest people shouldnt work on Saturdays and especially Sundays, but as you said you've got a project to finish off so basiclly what this means to me is that you should finish off your project and tell them for overtime pay because that is what it is, but if this project could'nt be finished off in the weekdays then that means you may not get overtime pay because they will just make some bullshit saying "You didn't finish it off so it is your fault that you had to come in." What you can do is work that day and when you finish work go and see a soliciter for advice and She/He will tell you what you want. Sorry if I couldn't answer your question but I hope you choose the right path.

As long as you worked a full 40 hours Mon- Fri(you didn't call in sick or have any vacation days that week) they should pay you overtime. This would be your normal hourly rate and a half. If you tool any days off thoughout the week- you will probably be paid at your straight hourly rate. You said office-so I'm assuming this is a reputable company. I can't see them playing games like "come in late on Monday" They only do stuff like this in retail mostly.

You may not have a choice- to get paid versus coming in late on Monday. We don't get paid overtime in my office but it we work overtime or on weekends or holidays, we get comp time. If you work 4 hours on Saturday, you get 4 hours off some other time- doesn't have to be Monday. Ask your manager- if they won't pay you, maybe at least you'll be able to choose which day you arrive late or leave early.

First, if you are on salary, it wouldn't make any difference usually. They aren't going to give you overtime for a Saturday if you are on salary. You have to just "suck it up".
In most hourly wage jobs I have had, Saturdays are the same pay as the rest of the week, and Sundays you get time-and-a-half or an adjusted pay scale. I have worked in union jobs where it simply meant 50 cents more per hour, but I have also worked non-union jobs where it was time-and-a-half.

If you are paid hourly, you will get paid overtime (usually time and 1/2) for the hours you put in over 40.
If you are salaried, more than likely you won't get any extra $$$ for your work on saturday, unless it is a special project.
Ask your boss, I'm sure he/she would know.

First make sure that this is not manditory over time. Some companies go by hours worked in a week. Verify with your manager or supervisor what exactly your hours are so everyone's on the same page! Normal working hours for a full time position is 40hrs pr wk. anything over 48hrs is overtime.

Sorry to tell you but...
It really depends on the type of job. If you are paid hourly then you should get at least the same wage unless you worked over 45 hours.. then maybe time and a half.
If you are on salary... you dont get paid for weekend work. Take the day off on Friday instead.

It depends on your pay. People who are compensated hourly are entitled to time and a half for overtime. Salary employees are not entitled to extra money. So, if you are salary... I would take what I could get (ie: coming in late).
This is strictly my opinion, and you may have different labor laws where you live.

it's depends of the company policies itself.... you probably need to speak to you supervisor or the accounttan, or anybody that you think have the capabilities to answer about this... some companies pays their workers by hours.... so, evenly you have overtime, you still have the same payment as what you've got on the regular work days...
