I would see to what degree she did it, and if it affected a student. It would also be important to see if she could potentially act wrongfully around a student. I would also check every aspect of her record and then give her a chance under a watchful eye.

Yes! A person's past is just that, their past. Some people do things they later regret. You only have one life and we're only human, so of course we're going to make mistakes. If the teacher is good with the children and has outstanding ratings, let her teach.

So how did he find it? Was he on a porn site when he spoted her? Also what kind of porn was it. Maybe it was something she made with here husband or boyfriend at the time never expecting it to get out in public.

So I would let her keep her job. I would just put her on some sort of probations to watch her for a while. Because what she did in her past is her issues and problems. As long as she isn't trying to get her freak on with the kids I don't see a problem.

I do not know the full situation. In Australia teachers undergo a series of checks . I guess if the principal is happy with her teaching skills and is a good teacher without any complaints about recent behavior then she should be allowed to keep her job.

Yes, we were all young once and made mistakes. Why make her pay with her job for something 11 years ago? Is that really fair? How would you like to walk into work tomorrow, boss calls you over and says "Listen we heard you partied a lot back 11 years ago, so we're gonna have to let you go.".....probably would feel pretty crappy. She should not be fired something that happened long ago and i'm sure she regrets it.

I wonder how that got out, Some people change there life around and deserve a second chance. if she is doing her job well and is not involved in that anymore. then she should teach. But if the hole school knew of this she would have a hard time teaching, maybe would be time to change schools, and hopefully will not follow her. making bad choices in life can come back to hunt you.

Absolutely! We have all done things we regret.
As long as it's in the past. We need quality teachers with a passion for the profession. Let her teach.

Yes, a persons past is and should be left in the past. We have all made mistakes and if we weren't allowed to put them behind us then only Mother Teresa and The Pope would be in a better place. It could have been a matter of survival or even to pay for her education. A presons past should not be what they are judged by it's what and who they are today that matters...The only reason I would see barring her/him from teaching is if it were child pornography.

Unless any of those videos involved kids I see no reason why she shouldn't be allowed to keep teaching. Probably every teacher in the school has had sex, but they hopefully don't tell their students about it. The fact that she was willing to let people video tape it for money doesn't mean that she's not capable of keeping her sex life private from her students just like everyone else does. There are any number of reasons people might do porn, and it doesn't necessarily mean that they are somehow a bad person. Considering it acceptable for adults to produce and watch pornagraphy doesn't mean that she considers it appropriate for kids or is going to bring it into the classroom. If she were, say, encouraging her students to watch pornagraphy that might be different (although one of the best teachers I had in high school recommended we visit a sex-toy store), but just because she doesn't follow some particular and arbitary moral code in her personal life outside of school (or rather, she didn't as of 11 years ago) doesn't mean she's not going to adhere to normal standards for what's acceptable in a classroom setting.

Yes. The past is the past. She does not present a threat to the students and can be an example of how a person can change her life.

School administrators should focus on current behaviors which may indicate students are in danger.
