Nobody knows what causes gravity only that it is caused by mass. Since light is considered both a particle and a wave i guess it would have some gravity when it is a particle. If the sun were to dissapear all the planets would go frying off. Earth not only is inpacted by gravity from the sun, but by every object that has a mass. The moon bends the earth out of shape and a star millions of miles away still attracts earth, but very insignificantly.
