I love roses, there are soooo many colors and varieties. My mom had a rose garden that just blew me away. I'm thinking about starting my own next Spring. Next though are tulips, the star inside the flower is like a little secret present.

I would say whichever plant or flower they had been so kind as to buy me was my favourite so as not to hurt their feelings.
I must admit, though, that it would be stretching it a bit if lilies were involved. They smell like cheap deodorant.
Come to think of it, I don't really like flowers very much.
Cauliflowers are OK though.
You can eat and enjoy those. But the aftereffects are a bit undesirable. But I don't suppose many people would give you one as a gift.

Tuberose: It looks exotic, is available at selected florists during the winter months but has a divine smell of gardenias with a hint of coconut especially in the evenings. It evokes memories of great visits to India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

If someone is buying flowers for me, my favorite is roses where I can observe the beauty of the cut rose with the beauty of the meaning of the action.

For me, it would be any native plant that originally grew in my corner of ohio before nurseries introduced non-native ornamentals. Natives grow better because they are used to the climate and offer many benefits to all forms of wildlife, including butterflies. It is important to plant natives because we can not rely on the governments public land to offer enough habitat for creatures. They are quickly running out of space to live and native plants that they thrive on. That is why it is imperitive american gardeners learn to plant natives during this time of global devastation.

I have to say it is whatever is in bloom in my yard. Of course, right now that means cigarette plant, cassia, firecracker ferns, cosmos, Turk's cap and batface cuphea. I even have a zinnia still blooming! In a couple of months my favorites will be daffodils, daylilies, Dutch irises, narcissus and freesias.
