The student that got disrespected was called into the office and the assistant principal told the student that they should of just shut up and did what she (the teacher said), and that the teacher had every right to say what she had said, and the use of her disrespectful actions (putting fingers in the students face). The assistant principal is racist against blacks (the student is black), so what do you think should be done by the teacher approaching the student very disrespectful, putting her finger in their face, and seriously talking to them like they are no one? What should be done to the teacher and the assistant principal?

The sad thing here is that kids today do not like to be disciplined. If someone tries to discipline them they call it being disrespectful.

When you are being addressed by an adult listen to what they have to say. Obviously your being talked to because you did something wrong. If you want respect, respect the rules of your school so that they do not have to discipline you.

I also have to say that I'm really tired of people using the 'race card'. If you get into trouble, do not try to hide behind your race. Accept the fact you got caught doing something wrong and learn from your mistake.

What makes you think the principal is racist? You've given no substantial evidence to support this. If a student is doing ANYTHING to cause a teacher to "put her finger in their face," then the student was being out of line first. You didn't say what the student said or did. You're giving one side to the story, so no one can make a rational judgment about the situation. Grow up and quit disrespecting your teachers.

I am not the person who answered your question, but i feel i should answer this one. I do not know all the circumstances concerning your problem. One thing i do know is that when you are in school the teacher is the one who must have the respect of the students, not the other way around. This teacher put her finger in your face, she did not slap you. When you went to the assistant principal and did not get the satisfaction that YOU thought you deserved then that person MUST be racist. Hon, i think you are the one with a problem, and i think that you should be the one to apologize to these educators. You need to adjust your attitude, and learn how to deal in a mature manner. It is not that everyone is against you, it is you against you, and it is time that you start accepting responsibility for your own actions, and attitude. It is like the president, you don't have to like him, but you must respect the position. When you are in school, you are the student, unless something unlawful has occurred in which case you go to the police, then they are the authority figures while you are there. I hope only the best for you, and i hope that you learn a valuable lesson in life from all of this.

If in fact there is racism involved, then the student's parents should consult an organization such as ACLU and inquire into any remedial action they might suggest. Perhaps there is a local NAACP office that will give some advice. Also the school; board (assuming there is one there) can be approached re such a complaint.

But the primary thing is to compile some evidence that the teacher and assistant principle have engaged in a pattern of discriminatory behavior. Putting a finger in a student's face is not in and of itself an improper disciplinary act, if in fact the discipline is called for, based on the misconduct of the student - AND if the same teacher has in the past used the same method to discipline students of white or other races in that class.

Clearly, teachers should not act in a racist manner, but the other side of the coin is that students should not use alleged racism as an excuse to behave in the same fashion toward the teacher of a different race.

well it is crap like this that is wrong with the world today. so what since when is disrespecting someone an offense to be written up over or worse. What the hell, it is a kid, this is the authority.
people who think something should be done about this should stop, these kinda actions are going overboard. listen to this a prekindergarten student gave his female teacher a hug his face landed in her breast as they naturally do when a 5 yr old is hugging an adult female. well the Principal saw this and wrote the kid up for sexual harassment because he was scared of the outcome all because people like the person who wrote this question ***** at everything and they want our kids to grow up to be ******* well i am sick of it lets get paddling back in the schools, let's let school fights be school fights without any arrests or suspensions from school. ORwe can do what this person wants and pusify America.

I dont believe putting fingers in face is kewl at all. Students do need to realize that teachers are ahead of the class and be more respectful. As for the principal old school, I dont believe he talked to the student in a professional manner. Teachers and administration know how to be professional. I would go to the superintendent.

Well - I am thinking that we are only getting one half of the story here and what you are trying to do is try this whole situation in the court of public opinion. If you feel or this other person feels they are being mistreated then you should hire a lawyer. If you are just full of crap than own it and let this go or maybe the teacher will hire a lawyer and sue you for defamation of character and emotional harm. It other words take the right action - this isn't it!!!

Ya know, I had a student who talked and talked and talked, all through lecture, every day. She talked during quizzes, during group projects, during class discussions. You name it. Finally, one day, I said, "Shut up, or get out. That's it." That was after three weeks of saying, "T, could you please be quiet?" It's very hard to keep a train of thought, much less an entire class, on track, when others are talking and I have to keep interrupting what we're doing. She yelled, "You do NOT get to tell me to shut up. You have to respect me." I very drily said, "You get respect when you've earned it, sweetie. Now sit down, and shut up, or get out." That was the end of that. She apologized, and we had a delightful rest of the semester. She enrolled in my class again the following term, and became one of my favorites.

Consider how you're behaving, and what effects your behavior has on others, including your teacher. Chill out a bit before doing this, and try to see things from all sides. Yes, pointing fingers in people's faces isn't great -- I hate it, myself. But make sure that your behavior is worthy of respect, that you ARE some one. This doesn't mean that you have to put up with real injustice -- just figure out what the real battles are, as well as what you can learn from a situation.

I don't know the whole story here, but from many years experience working with thousands of students and hundreds of teachers I know that there are at least three sides to every story - the student's side, the teacher's side, and the true side - what really did happen.

Many unfair things happen in all aspects of life. Unfortunately we cannot always do anything about them. My best advice would be to lead by example - always treat others as you would want to be treated.

just because the student is black does not autimatically make the pricnipal racist.
I need to know the rest of the story, had the teacher been telling the student to do something for a while, mabey she just lost her temper which is still wrong.
