This song is driving me insane can you tell me what it means? It's Center of the Sun by POA
Young girl in the market
Music to the men
When the men leave
Her eyes are red
When her eyes are closed again
she sees the dark market of above (violins)
And she sings
?They say the most horrible things
But I hear violins, when I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done?
Young boy in the market
Follows all the men
When the men leave
He's out of his head
When his eyes are closed again
he sees the dark market of above (violins)
And he sings
?They break the most beautiful things
But I hear violins, when I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done
I look into your eyes
And I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done?
(Center of the sun)

Young boy in the market
Sees the girl alone
And asks her
?Have you lost your way home??
She sings
?You say the most beautiful things, just like my violins?
I look into your eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done
When I close my eyes
I am at the center of the sun
And I cannot be hurt
By anything this wicked world has done
'Cause
I hear violins
I hear violins
I hear violins
I hear violins
(Center of the sun)
I hear ...violins

The guy & girl are stuck in a world they dont like, full of bad peopl, and they findtheir escape when the hear the violins.
Both hear the violins, and so they are kinda liks soulmates, because its only those two who hear them.
Seaprating them from the rest of the world

I believe the term "market" in this song is used to indicate that both the boy and the girl feel as though they are being traded and used as merchandise - bought and sold by other people - and treated as though they are only resources to be used and abused. The girl especially - and it makes me think about how, in some cases, women are objectified, treated as objects and as the property of others. I think the boy sees this and it bothers him - like he does not agree with this degrading system. He is "out of his head" because he is morally opposed to "slavery" or the merchandising of people, as he has witnessed when he "follows all the men." Both the girl and the boy dream of a better world - as evidenced by the beautiful music they hear when they close their eyes. They discover each other and realize they both hear the same music and envision the same dreams of a better world. When they talk about "the center of the sun" it symbolizes a reality above the one they find themselves in - but a reality they aspire to and one they believe could exist if only the current system of plunder and cruelty would disappear. Right now, to them, freedom seems so far above them it might as well be at the center of the sun.

The girl and the boy are both prostitutes, not by choice. The men who use them are vile "they say the most horrible things" to the girl, and of the boy "they break the most beautiful things", in my opinion, meaning they destroy the boy's innocence. While both are being abused, they must retreat to a "safe place" in their minds (the center of the sun) where they can ignore their abuse. Then these two abused souls meet, and there is thus hope. A tragic, moving and beautiful song.

My interpretation of the lyrics is that the girl is abused somehow by the men (eyes are red) and it is a physiological response to trauma for the brain to remove itself, go somewhere safe and far away within itself (center of the sun metaphorically). The boy loves the girl and witnessed the abuse or at least knows about it.

The girl is a prostitute, in the "market", on the market, the meat market, whatever. The rest is self explanatory in that light.
