I have recently moved into and apt and I have knats in my extra bdrm, kit and bthrm. How do I get rid of them?

put some sugar,vinegar and a few squirts of dish soap in a jar. the gnats will get in but they can't get back out. i do this when the garden veggies are ripe, it works.
