SEC is the deepest conference in college football. I think the Gators are capable. What do you fellow footballers out there think.

I'm sure a lot of the answerers are true Ohio St. fans and I'll bet there are a lot of bandwagon fans answering also. I'll plant this seed does anybody remember the 1984 Orange Bowl? The game that eventually determined the National Champion? The invincible Nebraska Cornhuskers, who many experts back then said may have been the greatest college football team ever, got upset by an 11-1 upstart Miami Hurricanes football team guided by Freshman QB Bernie Kosar. By the way Miami was 20 + point underdogs going into that game. I believe Florida's chances to win this game are better than most think and if they do lose they don't get blown out. Big Ten Football is overrated as Nebraska was before that '84 Orange Bowl.

From a Miami Hurricanes fan. Hurricane Nation will rise again.

djjjc - You talk about 2002 when your guys beat Miami. I hope Ohio State did the the right thing and mailed that ref a championship ring for those interference calls.

The Gators will win because of their stout defense. WHY does everyone resent defensive play. OSU has none. Oh, and did anyone realize that Ron Zook's team held OSU to 17 points with an unathletic defense, how do you think an athetic defense that runs the same style will do. And you know he's probably talking to someone in Gainesville. Zook deserves a ring after the Gators win too. His recruiting and the fact that he was the only Big Ten coach to realize that their conference is crap and vote FLA is enough to earn him a ring.

In a word...No. The Gators haven't got the defense to stop Troy Smith. Even if the gators stop one element of the Buckeyes offense, they won't stop all. Troy Smith has 30 TD passes, only 5 interceptions AND he can run as well as any running back. Antonio Pittman shredded Michigan's defense. WR Anthony Gonzales can get open against any secondary in the country. The Buckeyes also have way too much depth. Justin Zwick can carry anybody at QB, and true freshman Chris Wells will be a Heisman candidate inside 2 years. The Gators are good...but not that good.

As was said earlier any team can win on a given day. Florida is a tough team, hence them being the in the championship game. I know the OState fans out there remember '02 and how Miami was invincible and couldn't be beaten and that OSU was too slow and didn't have the talent to slow down Miami's offense.

Now saying that, there are still players around from that '02 National Championship team, one of them being Troy Smith, that I don't think will let the rest of the team overlook Florida, or buy into the hype of their invincibility.

Of course they can. Anything can be possible.

edit// OMG. oy! Listen [read] to all these people. LOL. They are too funny!!! Ohio State this, Michigan that...blah blah blah blah...so sure of the outcomes. Wonder what they have to say if the Gators and Trojans pull off the upsets which I don't doubt it can be possible. And I'm not saying this because I like the Gators or the Trojans because I'm a forever Volunteer - Go Vols! and a Mighty Bruin - Go Bruins!...I'm saying this because nobody can predict the future. yeah yeah "Gators have no chance," "Ohio State and Michigan ARE going to win," keep blahbling!!...and I can't believe that these Michigan fans are still saying that they were supposed to be #2. hahaha. They were/ARE the losers when they played OS and they were/ARE the losers when the BCS came out with the Gators being #2. Wonder if they are going to be the losers when they play the Trojans...

I think the Gators stand some chance even though Troy Smith and Antonio Pittman are great runners but look what Gators did to Arkansas' running backs McFadden and Jones. Gators did one hella job stopping them. Another thing no one knows how well OSU will play against a SEC team. OSU doesn't have that good of a defensive as everyone thought they did, I mean Michigan only lost by 3 points. so i hope it won't be a blow out i hope it'll be close.

the gators could but it will be a tough one. Somehow the gator's defense is going to have to find a way to slow down the intensely fast paced buckeye offense. After that, just control their defense with a steady offense, balance pass and run. I think the main way the gators will be able to beat the buckeyes is Time Of Possession, keeping that offense off the field will win the game for the Gators

Hey Brent! I think that the Gators have one heck of a defense and will keep the game close. Yes if Ohio State turns the ball over, the Gators have a good chance for the upset but they would have to play a great game. I believe that Ohio State will win but I hope I'm wrong.

Ohio State is way better than Florida and will blow them out by halftime.

But my real question is, if OSU crushes Florida by like 25-30 points and Michigan crushes USC, a team that WAS going to be in the championshi game, do you think there would be a playoff next year. There would certainly be a ton of controversy.

I think the Gators have a chance only if Ohio State gets lost on the way to the stadium. Good luck Gators. Oh yeah the second Quarteback is gonna run it.
