He's hardly ever mentioned as a top ten back (hell, I forgot about him).Smitty's question about listing the ten greatest running backs ever spurred this question. I saw Moore on his list and I completely forgot about him. A great back. He was like a swiss army knife you could flank him out as a receiver. Great speed, great moves and one hell of a pass catching back. In his time a touchdown scoring machine. Smitty thanks for listing Moore, and refreshing my memory. I'll probably get answers from the old timers or football historians only. I don't expect the younger people to know who I'm talking about. To the answerers how great do you think he was and if you agree that he is underrated why do you think so?

I got cracked on the side of my head by my Dad for forgetting to put Moore on my list of great backs. He was my fathers favorite player in his childhood and teenage years.

Hey Brent! Lenny Moore was one fantastic football player that could really do it all. He returned punts, kicks, ran the ball, and was also a good receiver. He was absolutely one of the best backs and all around football player that ever played.

Maybe the most underrated. He was ranked 71 in the top 100 players of all time. Probably underrated because he played with Johnny Unitas. An integral part of the Colts offense and a great player.
