The age of consent in NY is 16. At 16 you can legally be emancipated and live on your own. And parents who press charges on the man who got their 17 year old daughter pregnant are just ignorant.

well if your almost 18 they cant really do anything to him or you...so all that really matters is if hes gonna stick around with you through your pregnancy...if you know he is & he tells you he is...tell your parents that he plans to help you with everything & such so that they dont get as mad & even if your pregnancy was planned you should just give a little bit of a lie saying that it wasnt planned because you know that they will mos def get made if you say you DID plan it...but other then that they cant really do anything to him because your old enough to know what youve done & give consent...thats what the police told me when my mom tried to press charges on my boyfriend who was only 18 & i was 15...now im 17 & pregnant with my boyfriend of a years baby...but everything will be quite alright :D...be careful & i hope this helps a little bit

Your man can definitely get in trouble depending on state laws. In Texas 17 was a legal age so then there wouldn't be a problem.

fudge... well, thats a very good question. whens your birthday?
here in california, if your over 16 your parents cant press charges unless you want to as well. it may be similar there as well

good luck girlie... email if you need anymore help. i was in the same exact position almost exactly a year ago

I can't really help you because I am not from the states...I just wanted to wish you good luck...and to tell you that you are big enough to take your own decision...no matter which one will be that.I think that legally they can place charges on him...even if he was your boyfriend because it is illegal for adults to have sex with "children"..as you know. so ...he can get in trouble...if he isn't already.

well did youre parents know you were with him and how old he is?...if they did, then they shouldnt press charges. i am 17 and my parents didnt press charges on my baby's father even though he was 5 years older than i was. if they really wanted to, they could, but talk to them, and explain that it wasnt rape or anything forced. besides, they cant force you to testify against him in court. you still have your own freedom of speech.

Regardless of his age you need to tell your parents so that you can start getting medical treatment for your unborn child the sooner you start going to the Dr. the better it is for the baby and yourself!

Depends on if you parents press charges or not. They can charge him with rape since you are a minor.

It depends on how much long until your 18 and also depends on your states laws.

Yes, I think that he can get into trouble. Go to a State that allows you to get married at that age & then he can't get into trouble once you come back & are married.
