This is a stark example of the incompetence and arrogance of this discredited administration founded on it's misguided religious tendencies.

Diplomats for generations have always said, you talk to your enemies and entertain your friends. That bit of good advice seems to be lost on the stupid.

Because it is extremely difficult for one enemy to have a dialogue with another enemy. They both believe they are better than the other. They practically hate each other. Actually, the Bush administration would do better if they WERE willing to talk with enemies. It's not a sign of weakness. It's more a sign that they are afraid they will be upstaged. Or made to appear a fool.
I'm so tired of hearing about Iran wanting to destroy Israel. Especially since other sources have said that the president of Iran never said those words. But whether or not he did is of no import. Why does Israel even want to respond to such a threat? To keep everyone on edge? To make people feel sorry? Doesn't Israel threaten - and act -- on their hatred for the Palestinians.
They exhibit such puerile behaviour. All of them.

Thats' not neccisarily why. Think about it. How fruitful would talk be between Bush and Amenijihad? To say that's a waste of time would be an understatement. Chavez? You see Bush and the 21st century version of Castro seeing eye to eye?
Why bother? Iran is an enemy, and should be treated as such. Iran wants us and our allies destroyed. What on Earth good could come of that?
No talks, no trade, no nothing. Bush may be wrong on a lot of things, but on this they are right.

They don't want to seem like weak on foreign policy by negotiating with a country Bush once called the 'axis of evil'.

Because both Syria and Iran sponsor terriorist organisations.

Iran is sending weapons and bombs over to the Shia, and Syria is allowing Sunni fighters to cross their borders.

According to the report, neither country is stopping those folks.

The U.S. has asked both countries to shut down their borders to only those folks that have a legit reason for coming into Iraq, and both won't do anything about it.

And now this pannel suggest we TALK to these folks?

The entire population of the earth is Bush's enemy.

Even little Click language Bushmen of the Kalahari desert
are complaining that he has given them a bad name.

Talking with your enemies does little good!

Let's test that theory, shall we? Schedule a formal dinner with Osama for diplomatic talks, then post here to let us know what the results of those talks are.

Chances are that your body will be returned without your head and it won't be from talking until you are blue in the face!

Didn't know that. Which member of the administration said that, and can I get a transcript of the press conference?

Do you see our enemies talking with us or do you see them talking bad about us? When someone says they want to end our way of life here, destroy the state of Israel, etc...there is really nothing to say to them.

Avery, do you even know why the President doesn't want to talk to Iran? Do you even care to find out? Or is it just good enough to pretend that Bush is wrong for not wanting to talk to Iran?

I await your response.
