Depends on if you are going to spend a lot of time in your room and use the hotel amenities (spa, gym, pool, etc). Personally, I like to stay in a mid priced hotel so I save more money for gambling and shows. I don't really spend much time in the room except for sleeping, so I don't miss the fancy amenities.

It really depends on what you want to do while you are there. Some hotels such as Circus Circus, Barbary Coast/Gold Coast are kind of dingy and the beds are real uncomfortable. Let me give you some suggestions on some good cheap/moderatly priced hotels you can book online:
1. Monte Carlo
2. The Mirage
3. The Luxor
4. Treasure Island
5. New York, New York
In the summer time you'd want to take into consideration who has the best/better pool but with it being winter it won't make much difference.

The Luxor is a great hotel in my opinion. I stayed there 2 times already, most recently was at the end of april this year. They have walkways to excalibur and there is mandalay place. Great shopping there. They now have the bodies exhibition and titanic exhibition also which i did not get to see but i hear good things about both. If you get the chance and have the money to see any cirque show then definitley go see KA at the MGM. One of the best ones I think. Luxor is the place to be for parties but like others said it is near the far end of the strip. You can always use the duece bus for 7 bucks all day though or the monorail for 12 bucks which you can catch at the MGM. There is also a place called fat tuesdays in most hotels and shopping areas and they sell the giant yard drinks which are really good.

When I go to Las Vegas, I stay so busy that I am usually only in my hotel room long enough to sleep, if that. If you won't have a car there with you, shell out a little more money to stay someplace within walking distance to everything else. I think I stayed at Circus Circus last time I was there. It was nothing fancy, but it was clean and convenient. Save your money for entertainment.

Yes and no. The more expensive places have nicer rooms, which you probably won't be in for very long but you do have to shower there! But if you want a cheaper place to stay with a great location try the Imperial Palace. Right across from Ceasars Palace and next door to Harrah's and Flamingo. AWESOME location and inexpensive prices and clean rooms!

I would say no. I only use the room to sleep and shower, the rest of my time I am out. As long as it's clean, it doesnt matter where you stay. The best deals are downtown but then you need a rental car or rely on public transportation to get to the strip.

I normally stay at the MGM Grand. It's a very nice hotel. And the people who work there are very nice and easy to get along with.

if your even asking this question the answer is cheaper is better. spend your money on shows and fun .. if your doing Vegas right you won't see much of that room anyway.

you have to realize you will be spening a lot in vegas as it is. nicer is not deffinetly better, however, they can be more fun. personally, i like to stay at the cheapest because i can still have fun in the city and not blow the bank
