I have a female boss who is in her mid-fifties. I have two gifts to choose from to give to her for Christmas:

A large Spa Gift basket.

An expensive candle with gold leaves embedded in it which is on a gold stand.

I don't know which gift to give her, and giving both would be too much. What is your opinion? Thanks!

I like the idea of the candle with leaves around it. It's simple, yet elegant. I think the Spa Gift basket is kind of personal and may not be appropriate (depending how well you know each other).

Well since I am a female, I would suggest you give her them Spa Gift Basket. This would be a great gift, because all girls love things like Spa sets and bath sets. However the candle would make a great gift as well, but do not give her both.

An expensive candle with gold leaves embedded in it which is on a gold stand, for the reason that your boss might find it a little too personal and intrusive for a spa gift basket! the implications , although unintentional may be conveyed!

I would recommend the spa gift basket. Bosses always get candles and little decorative things to sit around as gifts, which gets rather boring. Dare to be different and give her something she can use and enjoy.

Speaking from a females prespective I vote for the Spa basket. Especially if she's a boss shes probably stressed out a bit and could use a little relaxation.

By the way thats so nice of you to do that for her.

The spa gift basket... definately. The candle seems like a really weird re-gift present or something equally impersonal.

I think if she takes good care of her health you should definitely give her the Spa gift. If she smokes or doesn't seem to be into self preservation then go with the candle. Hope that helps!
