we say what is your name? why can't we say what is your noun? If Bush is a proper noun then Bush is also a Proper name, If Afghanistan is a noun then it is also a name.A name is always a noun, and a noun is always a name. if The name of that wrench is a monkey wrench. then that monkey wrench is both noun and name

Noun is the grammatical category. Name isn't that. It is a common noun and it is the word that we use to refer to what we call to people, animals, to define their existence in this world. The name of a person defines his or her individuality.
