I collect thumbs down!
I actually EXPECT thumbs down usually from born again Christians (what a suprise!). Actually I always write something about it like "thumbs down if you agree" so the 17 thumbsdown I get, are actually thumbs up. that or I'll tell them how I'll get a nickel for every thumbs down I get. I DESIRE thumbd down, yet I never give any thumbs down, even if I really want to.

A lot of people, myself included, are at work so we have to do half an answer, post it and then add or re - edit it. I also have the bad habit of writing long answers which spell checker struggles with and then I notice later that my spelling has gone for a wild one in the woods so I have to edit and correct it.
I couldn't really care if someone gives me a thumbs down but I find it amazing that some people get thumbs down for giving fair, decent answers which shouldn't offend anybody.
You felt strongly enough to ask a question about it!
I guess we all react to something.

I think people want to use this forum as their personal speaking podium because otherwise, no one would even listen. So when you give them a thumbs down, they need to further validate the idiot response they gave, as if it would make a difference. These are people who have no sense of communication in the normal world so they have decided to pollute Y!A with their nonsense.

I don't get mad. Sometimes it's because I NEED a thumbs down. I answered a question about math... and since I got 6 thumbs down, I knew my math was wrong, so giving me a thumbs down corrected me.

I have grown accustom to receiving thumbs down. People often do not like the truth, I am not surprised by the least in their fear of my words.
